Stathis Alexopoulos is a c ontemporary sculptor born on 1976 in Athens Greece, where he curr ently liv es and works. He studied Sculp ture at the School of FineArts o f Tinos, as well as at the Fine Art School o f Aristotle Univ ersity of Thessaloniki, where he gr aduated with distinction. His sculptures can be found in major museum art shops, galleries, and concept st ores in Greece and abr oad.
His sculp ting technique, attempts to link the past with the pr esent bringing together the concepts of time and art, is characterized by “hubs”, which are formed by blending together belts and stripes, encircled and embraced eternally.
His sculp tures c ombine modern aesthetic with the enduring values of classic alsculpture since the form has the power to define the artworks meaning and mission. The artist strives to redefine the form and hold it captive through time.
