He was characterized as “the engraver and painter of the Aegean, with dreamy shots that overlap as veils over the sea along with mythical figures”. Important moments in his career was when he created posters of the Greek-Italian war of 1940, the national emblem of the Republic in 1974 and, as we have said, the well-known “Alfavitario” of 1949 that was worshiped and published repeatedly. For this “Reading”  Yannis Tsarouchis wrote: “This book and an EAM poster gave me joy and hope. Thanks to Grammatopoulos. “He was also popular in the pedagogy “Classically Illustrated” (“Perseus and Andromeda”, “Theseus and Minotauros”, etc.).

Then, in the 70s, his woodcuts from the Aegean Sea, from the Ionian Sea, from Parnassus, from Delphi, functioned as a magnet for the foreign visitors who discovered another place for their holidays, with ancient sights, a museum and also unforgettable sunsets and moons, like those that Kostas Grammatopoulos has always shown us.
