Studying the work of Pavlos Samios and looking at his twenty-year-long artistic career, you cannot fail to see the successive stages of a continuous review of his iconography adventure and his points of reference. Paul Samios does not hesitate to show his faith in his work and still offers possibilities for revising the relationship between reality and art, drawing on elements and methods from the past of the painting itself. The constant encounter with the teachers, the grand pioneers or the older classics, but also with the painting tradition of our place, Byzantine, restores in his work the relations with the past and the realization that the artist is a recipient and communicator of his cultural heritage. This acceptance leads to a new treatment of the questions that novelism has neglected, such as the importance of the subject, the new role of the narrative, the redeeming of the space of a story, searching for references in art history itself. And indeed, one can see that the painting of Samios, from the mid-70s, is only a field of performance in front of the viewer’s eyes, and the real or imaginary experience becomes reality. Life and love become reality. Source: samiospavlos.gr

In the same way that Samios attributes human relations, he expresses at the same time those ties, equally strong with man's being, which connect him with nature. Man embedded in creation is experienced in his work as an unshakable unity with nature, as his primitive relationship with the earth and the sea is expressed. This relationship, glorifying as light deflects a form at the time of planting a tree or fishing on a boat, seeks only to demonstrate the complete harmony in which man can be found with the natural environment and the nostalgia for him a paradise that is in danger of being lost.
