In the prologue of the work we have the unique scene in the tragedies of Sophocles where one of the main deities of Olympus is presented. It is about the Homeric Athena, who bestows her favor on her protégé Odysseus, torturing and ridiculing his enemy. Athena explains to Odysseus, who has come to investigate the slaughter of the herds, that she darkened Aedes’ mind. He even calls Aedes outside and thus proves to Odysseus his madness. Humane, happy and vengeful, Athena amuses herself with Aedas’s madness.
