His characteristic expressive medium is the use of light, natural or artificial, usually in the form of neon tubular lamps, a material already present at his first individual exhibition in Athens in 1972. The "poor" materials he chooses (ropes and twine , stones, sheets, plasticine, rubber, bitumen and later, mirrors), maintain their autonomous expressive and conceptual charging, while at the same time becoming part of a wider artistic creation. His compositions are usually spread out on the floor or on the walls, and occasionally he reverts to the two-dimensional image and combines his constructions with paintings or photographic interventions.
