“Daskalaki’s paintings are not pleasant. Neither reassuring, “says the curator Elizabeth Plessa, while she stresses that he “nurses” the eye, the hand and the soul of the one who sees it and forces him” if he wants to see, to realize that the realistic depiction of the world surrounding us may be at the same time what is most unrealistic. ” As for its content, form and material, it binds to “a painting that charges the viewer, but not in an emotional way”.

When I do not paint I like to go to museums. More often than not, I go alone. So I guard my concentration. Besides, what I look at, every time is a very personal affair. It has to do with where my art is in that period of time. With the agony of the moment. In my battle with my work I look for assistants and support from the painters in those museums.
