I embraced the idea of the Ikastikos Kiklos Sianti to coincide with the exhibition that will be presented, in order to paint for the exhibition titled ‘Tondo,’ a circle, the most unique shape. In its thoughts, we feel it on our body. Most of the time, we compose within the circle, which also encompasses philosophical exploration. Historically, painting has references to circular shape from ancient depictions, mosaics to the Byzantine period and the Renaissance. It then transitions to the romantic inclination of painters to paint within the circle. Later, significant painters mentioned the circular shape on their own, as most painters did not apply painting to buildings, temples, and the like. The circular shape always poses a challenge for artistic exploration. Painting within a circle, I feel the shapes and colors perfectly. As if there is no way out, with my gaze and feeling constantly following the shape, the circle referring to humanity in the universe.
