The References series (2002-2013) is based on the creation of "fantastic portraits" by six artists, Vincent Van Gogh, Giannoulis Halepas, Sutine, Alberto Giacometti, Francis Bacon and Giorgos Bouzianis, who has a decisive influence on his artistic way of thinking and work. In this way he invokes and seeks a kind of spiritual communication / fantasy conversation with these six well known artists. Always pivotal, the human body that rules almost all of its artistic journey .A journey though memory, time and death. The metaphysical element works alongside the realistic representation. Chronis Botsoglou, without unnecessary or whimsical elements and with a peculiar expressionism he uses, creates works full of emotions, symbolism, but also emotional and color tensions.
