The monumentality of Vlassis’s theatrical forms characterizes the volumes of his sculptures, which are always distinguished by a staged dimension of movement. His multilevel and often sharp “ancient Greek” bronze sculptures, the biomorphic figures, the Olympic Sports, the geometric embraces of his tubular figures and the explosive erotic female bodies – have all been designed beforehand on paper and are dominated by the sense of a movement frozen in time.
