From encaustic deep yellow to dazzling white, and from graceful to vindictive red and various nuances of the transparent but indeed intense bluish melancholy, the colour imposes itself from within on the persons’ fates as inescapable destiny. Are they human figures or disembodied deities? It seems to be a matter of light. The Colour-Light is the leading element, sometimes full of enthusiasm that reaches to frenzy, delirium and turmoil. Sometimes it becomes pleasant and healing, or discreetly ironical and hushed, condescending, surrounding everything with a prophetic exhalation. Suburban houses like ancient palaces. Laurel-crowned youths, Greeks, and fair-haired maidens with their wavy hair streaming in the flow of mystic music, their tempers fed on Olympus wheat.
