Sianti Gallery, unites forces with NYX Esperia Palace Hotel Athens infusing Art to the hotel’s vibe in a unique cultural collaboration. In this iconically urban, mystical and funky hotel at the heart of Athens, on Friday, 7 March, at 19:00, we will have the great pleasure of presenting a solo exhibition by renowned visual artist Sofia Fotiadou, titled “Goddess Vision”, in a blasting synergy between art and hospitality.
The curtain of Serie A is opening and Fotiadou’s female deities invite us to discover our inner world and transcend superficial images. Bearing a sensual aura, her forms become symbols of sentimentality and mirrors of inner reflection, not only for the viewer, but for the depicted figures, as well.
The artist herself notes regarding this series of works, which are exploring female form as a symbol of power, mystery and bonding with nature: “…from the portraits inspired by the Old Masters to the modern compositions where the human body is attuned with the natural elements, this exhibition denotes the inner dimensions and existential issues of womanhood. A visual narration of deeper essence that exceeds physical form, revealing all the transformations, which do not limit the female energy that empowers us as it surges through us. Symbols of rebirth, initiation, and awakening imprint the traces of godly essence, which vibrates inside us. Woman emerges as an archetype and, elsewhere, as a fragile, yet indomitable presence – always a bearer of life and transformation. The connection with nature is organic and mutual, as her body and soul intertwine with the physical world, underlying the unity between the ephemeral and the eternal, between decay and rebirth”.
At the end of the day, Sophia Fotiadou with her deep knowledge and chromatic sensitivity, creates a unique, personal world full of creatures yearning for a paradise lost or dreaming of a new one. In her paintings, we find all the classical visual values, combined with a very modern view of things. In other words, a delicate, sometimes humoristic and sometimes melancholic view of the way things could be…
The exhibition, being a tribute to female nature and its universal power, is a proof that art can break out of a gallery’s narrow walls. Sianti Gallery, an established Athenian art gallery, in collaboration with NYX Esperia Palace Hotel Athens, which looms over the busy center of the city, are placing the standards for a visual, urban innovation, while proving, once again, that Art has no limits.
