Educational Program ‘The Circle with the Butterflies'”
Renewing our appointment with our young art-loving friends, we look forward to seeing you on Saturday, September 30th, at the inaugural educational program for the 2023-2024 academic year.
This educational program revolves around the concept of the circle, a shape often symbolized in art. Drawing inspiration from the Renaissance term ‘tondo,’ which refers to any round work of art, painting, or sculpture, we revisit the spectrum of colors and create our individual round artwork!
“However, where do artists draw their inspiration from? By observing the works in the gallery exhibition, we seek their thematic orientations. The circle is simultaneously the end and the seed, the completion, but also a new beginning, just like the circle of a butterfly’s life! The butterfly will be our inspiration for creation in this first autumn meeting! Lyrics, images, and sounds will give us inspiration and… wings for creation!”
Our educational programs provide multisensory stimuli to children, allowing them to sense and understand various forms and aspects of art, enriching their personalities in the process! Our goal is to bring children of all ages closer to the ideas and world of artists.
Our specially designed educational programs, based on constructivist theory and sociocultural theories of learning, will take place on the following dates in the year 2023 – 2024.
• Saturday 30 September 2023
• Saturday 21 October 2023
• Saturday 25 November2023
• Saturday 16 December 2023
In collaboration with Dr. Popi Georgopoulou, a museum curator and museum educator with experience in designing and producing educational materials for museums and cultural spaces, we hope to provide children with a path for their artistic explorations.
