NYX Esperia Palace and Sianti Gallery establish a new dialogue between culture and hospitality in the heart of Athens. NYX Esperia Palace and Sianti Gallery join forces once again in a collaboration that
brings contemporary art to the very center of hospitality. With “The Shape of Desire” by Stathis Alexopoulos, desire takes on an artistic dimension and invites visitors to discover it as an organic part of the hospitality experience.
On Friday, October 31, at 19:00, the exhibition opens to the public at NYX Esperia Palace (22 Stadiou & Edouardou Lo) and will run through November 30. Through sculptures inspired by speed, freedom, nostalgia, and love, the hotel is transformed into a space where artistic creation engages seamlessly with moments of leisure.
The Shape of Desire explores humanity’s timeless relationship with objects of desire. From the elegant curves of the Jaguar E-Type and the legendary Porsche 911, to the adrenaline of Formula 1, the vintage Lambretta, the PlayStation joystick, and the ever-beloved heart shape, Alexopoulos’ sculptures transform familiar forms into contemporary works of art. Meticulously crafted, they invite viewers to look at these objects not merely as material things, but as vessels of memory, desire, and freedom.
In this way, NYX Esperia Palace and Sianti Gallery set the tone for a collaboration that transcends the boundaries of a traditional exhibition, highlighting the power of contemporary art to transform spaces and offer the public an experience with a lasting impact.
Vassiliki Sianti, Director of Sianti Gallery, stated: “It is a great pleasure for us to continue our collaboration with NYX Esperia Palace — a space that allows the artworks to ‘breathe’ and engage with the audience in a different way. Stathis Alexopoulos’ sculptures integrate harmoniously into the hotel environment, showing how contemporary art can live outside galleries or museums, becoming part of everyday life and reaching wider audiences.”
Nino Konstantinou, General Manager of NYX Esperia Palace, added: “Our partnership with Sianti Gallery reflects the philosophy of NYX Hotels in the clearest way. We give a creative dimension to a space that not only hosts guests but also important artists like Stathis Alexopoulos, who spark dialogue and enrich the
cultural heartbeat of Athens.”
