{"id":10786,"date":"2018-03-26T15:39:32","date_gmt":"2018-03-26T12:39:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ikastikos-kiklos.com\/?p=10786"},"modified":"2018-12-21T12:33:31","modified_gmt":"2018-12-21T10:33:31","slug":"women-bridging-worlds-mina-papatheodorou-valyraki-b-beth-weldon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ikastikos-kiklos.com\/en\/women-bridging-worlds-mina-papatheodorou-valyraki-b-beth-weldon\/","title":{"rendered":"Women Bridging Worlds-Mina Papatheodorou Valyraki-B&#8217; Beth Weldon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>On Friday 16 March 2018<\/strong>, <strong>Ikastikos Kiklos Sianti<\/strong> will officially present to the public the \u2018Women Bridging Worlds\u2019 exhibition of works by <strong>Mina Papatheodorou-Valyraki<\/strong> and <strong>B\u0384 Beth Weldon<\/strong>, during which two women from different countries will meet in an artistic and cultural crossroad, bridging art with friendship.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 500px; height: 250px;\" src=\"\/\/e.issuu.com\/embed.html#25761544\/59410073\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Two accomplished visual artists of distinguished artistic identity \u2013 both members of the Art Committee Board for the United States Sports Academy \u2013 follow a different route, only to meet in that binding instance which entangles their inner worlds and artistic paths in a moment transcending visual reality.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TdKmP0_ewow\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>How could such an approach be possible and on what grounds could such different artistic language and inner processing be bridged?<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Pe1VzRNajdk\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It is a bonding founded on the very beginning of artistic creation, on the initial idea both artists wish to express, each in her own unique style. Mina and B\u2019 Beth begin from a common idea, transferring it on the canvas without imitating one another \u2013 each relaying on her own expressive power in order to convey her personal perception, touching the viewer\u2019s inner world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mina\u2019s works<\/strong> express her passionate personality and consuming devotion to the theme\u2019s deeper meaning, revealing the absolute likeness of microcosmic details to the whole. As art critic Giuliano Serafini quite accurately describes it: \u201c<em>Detail reveals a gesture, a \u2018memory\u2019 of your actions, actions which epitomize the necessary time and space of the creative act. Each painting engulfs many other paintings which could be acknowledged as separate and completed artistic works.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>B\u2019 Beth\u2019s works<\/strong> linger between abstract and figurative art, bringing out the theme\u2019s true nature through the use of an abstract, yet personal visual style. As art critic Dora Iliopoulou-Rogan writes: \u201c<em>All Weldon\u2019s works share an instinctive inner pulse, regardless her artistic phase.
