Professor in the Department of Visual Arts and Art Sciences at the University of Ioannina&nbsp;<strong>after almost 15 years returns<\/strong>&nbsp;with an exhibition reminding that natural light and art are in a constant interaction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SEE THE CATALOGUE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe style=\"width: 700px; height: 400px;\" src=\"https:\/\/online.fliphtml5.com\/aomdi\/xwnl\/\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" seamless=\"seamless\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Dikefalos following the motif \u201cthe work lives with light\u201d dispels the myth that sculpture excludes all sentimentality, since light is a form of energy and a source of life. Recording the thoughts of Dikephalos \u201csculpture is a means of expression and creation, it is the marriage of matter with thought and emotion, a language of communication between the craftsman- craftsman and the viewer. This is the Visual Language, which the work should have clearly formed and the sculptural means it uses in the formation of the specific language should be crystallized. This means that the creator sculptor has a deep knowledge of the language of shapes and its relationship with deeper meanings. He should be very aware of how this picture language is.<\/p>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><strong>SEE PHOTOS FROM THE OPENING<\/strong><\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\">Carving the marble with light, Dikefalos redefines the concept of sculpture with harmony, balance and visual symmetry as the main conditions. He seeks the performance of pure form and creates bioforms, geometric or aerodynamic, taking advantage of the nature of his materials. These compositions, sometimes solid and sometimes with gaps at key points, extend vertically or horizontally and allow light to pass through the surfaces and project the volumes, while often giving the impression of continuous movement. The late Marina Lambrakis Plaka wrote about her beloved student, who dedicated himself to the difficult path of sculpture and at the same time was led close to the teachings of the great masters: \u201cThis relationship for Dikephalos is erotic, it is a relationship of passion. The sleek forms born from his chisel belong to a modern classicism. The space around them acts as a boundary, embracing the form without letting it \u201cdiffuse\u201d. The plastic forms of the Bicephalus preliminarily exclude ugliness, deformity, impressive surprises. The sculptor interprets the light like his ancient contemporaries with light strokes that write his step on the plastic surface with wetness while, where the composition requires, a deep groove creates the shadow intensity\u2019. And he concludes characteristically: \u201cKostas Dikefalos is a creator of our time who managed to save and serve two values that are in danger of disappearing: the honesty of the craftsman and the passion for the beautiful form.
