Meanwhile, the conversation proceeds, the Polish has finished the haircut and the painter moves to the big bench to eat. We continue the discussion there, standing. It washes a tomato, cuts it, but it also needs something else. “Put some sugar too. Or honey. Do you know how delicious it will be? ” Later he wants to explain all this. “I say things like that, I’m not serious. Things can’t be done with seriousness. ” His meal is a simple, a habit he has since he was little. He friends will say the same thing about him as well. “Even though now I’m earning some more money, I still eat the same thing I ate in the past.” And he says this because in no way does he want to connect what he loves to do, with livelihood needs. “I was not thinking about living or how to live. My greatest passion and my problem was how I would become a painter, not how I would live. ” “It’s not about making money, but about making art.” Maybe you will never earn from this, maybe again you will earn a lot, and what does that mean? It’s better to talk about how you will become an artist than how you will live as an artist. ”

I flip through the books with Fassianos' works. I see his paintings again. I visit a counterattack by drawing his creative time, his painting. I stop and look at works of Paris in the early 1960s. I wonder: Did he look or did he find his way? Anyone who knows the forms of his mature work conceals them behind the deliberately inconspicuous, almost childlike figures of this era that testify to his co-ordination with some congenital currents of the European avant-garde: tachisme, art brut, and Cobra's wildly abstract expressionism. Fassianos argues that this is a pure coincidence, but he confirms the affinity, which has been highlighted by the Paris artistic circles since his first exhibitions there. Dubuffet himself, the chief representative of art brut, recognized Fassianos as a gifted young man who followed in his footsteps. The early works of the new painter already have some features that belong to the constant features of his mature style: the love of storytelling, humor, the verbal commentary on the subject, the monochrome or, more precisely, the color dominant with an emphasis on red, blue and yellow.
